Richard Hagan is the Owner and Managing Director of Crystal Doors
Richard was voted the Business Leader of the year, at the edie Sustainablity Leaders awards 2022, on 30 March 2022.
He is a passionate environmentalist. With his leadership Crystal Doors has become a national leader in sustainable manufacturing and he is regularly invited to speak about how he is transforming the business in response to the climate emergency. Richard is also a strong advocate of Industry 4.0 and is a Fellow of the IN4.0 Group and a supporting stakeholder of Made Smarter.
Richard began racing towards achieving net-zero in 2015. In 2021 Crystal Doors won the Queen’s Award for Sustainable Enterprise, edie.net SME business of the year and many other awards. In November 2021 Crystal Doors company achieved net-zero for all three scopes (Scope 1-3) and is now evidencing live data with monthly net-zero reporting.
Richard wrote a chapter in the recently published “Green Manufacturing” book, entitled “Small can be radical”.
